What exactly does the source say?

550 5.7.1 This message is likely suspicious due to the very low reputation of the sending IP address. To best protect our users from spam, the message has been blocked. For more information, go to Why has Gmail blocked my messages?

Gmail's page writes domain-name and ip-address where your bounce shows your own domain and the sending address.

Same fix: 421 4.7.0
421 4.7.0 This message is suspicious due to the very low reputation of the sending IP address. To protect our users from spam, email sent from your IP address has been temporarily rate limited. For more information, go to Why has Gmail blocked my messages?
03

Why would a small firm see it?

Mail from your website or a shared web host, sent from an address other customers also send spam from.

04

How do I fix it?

  1. Find which server sent the message: the bounce gives its IP address.
  2. Send website and device mail through your own mail provider instead of the web host's server.
  3. If the address belongs to the service you send through, tell that service. It is theirs to clean.
05

What else do the sources say?

A shared IP address is an IP address used by more than one email sender. The activity of any senders using a shared IP address affects the reputation of all senders for that shared IP address.
