How do I set up DMARC at GoDaddy?
In GoDaddy, open your domain's DNS records and add a TXT record named _dmarc. Paste a DMARC record that starts at p=none with a report address. Leave the domain name out of the Name field: GoDaddy adds it. Move the policy to quarantine and reject once your own mail passes.

What does a DMARC record do?
It tells receiving mail servers what to do with mail that shows your domain but fails SPF and DKIM. Microsoft says where the record is made.
Instead, you create the DMARC TXT record at your domain registrar or DNS hosting service (often the same company).
What record do I publish?
Use your own domain and a mailbox you read for the reports.

In our words, from GoDaddy's help page on adding a TXT record, read 14 October 2026. If a screen has changed since, follow the host's own page.
Where is the change made?
Your DNS settings at GoDaddy, in the list of DNS records for your domain. Nothing is changed in your mailboxes.
What else do people ask about this?
What if a DMARC record already exists at GoDaddy?
Edit it instead of adding a second one. A domain should have one DMARC record.
Do I need SPF and DKIM first?
Yes, at least one of them passing for your own mail before you move past p=none. The reports show which services fail.
