What is a dated record?
A dated record is a document that says what was read on which day and carries a fingerprint anyone can check.

What does dated record mean?
(Collision-resistant) It is computationally infeasible to find any two distinct inputs that map to the same output.
The fingerprint is a hash of the file, a short string computed from every byte of it. Change one character and the hash is different, so a copy that matches the published fingerprint is the document as issued.
It is not a signature and does not prove who wrote it. It proves the document has not changed since the day it was made, which is what a board, an insurer or a client usually needs to know.
A dated record also states its limits. Each finding carries its date and the public record behind it, so anyone can look again and see whether it still holds. A newer reading never rewrites an older record.
Where does it show up in a reading?
Every reading is dated by the day it was read. The paid assessment adds the Assessment Record with its fingerprint, which /verify/ confirms only beside the fingerprint itself.
