How do I answer the cyber insurance question about antivirus and endpoint protection?
The forms ask whether every company device runs up to date antivirus or endpoint protection, and some ask for the product's name.
Last read from the sources at the foot of this page.
What exactly does the form ask?
These are the forms' own words, with the form and page each comes from.
Do you protect all company devices with anti-virus, anti-malware, and/or endpoint protection software?
Up-to-date, active anti-virus software on all computers, networks, and mobile devices
Running endpoint security on all connected devices e.g. laptops, mobile devices, desktops?
Which endpoint protection product do you use on your network?
What does it mean for a small firm?
An endpoint is any device that connects to your systems. Some forms count phones as well.
How do I answer it truthfully?
Take the list of devices from your protection product's console and compare it with the devices you own. A device missing from the console is a device without protection.
Can an outside reading check this?
An outside reading cannot see your devices or what runs on them. Nothing inside your network, your devices or your accounts can be seen from outside, so this cannot be checked that way. Only your own settings and records can show it.
